The Associates Committee is chaired by the AIA Central Oklahoma Associate Director. This committee is responsible for Associate events throughout the year such as A.R.E. Seminar, Emerging Professional events, IDP programs etc.  The committee must work within the budget set by the AIA Central Oklahoma Board of Directors and must report to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

Architecture Week is held each year to promote the importance of good design and the role an architect plays in the built environment.  Architecture Week is a week long and is comprised of many different committees. 

The committee must work within the budget set by the AIA Central Oklahoma Board of Directors and must report to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

CONTINUING EDUCATION COMMITTEE:

The Continuing Education Committee is responsible for developing, coordinating and organizing continuing education programs for AIA Central Oklahoma members.  These programs include free lunch and learns as well as fee-based full and half day programs. 

The committee must work within the budget set by the AIA Central Oklahoma Board of Directors and must report to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

The Membership Committee is responsible for membership recruitment and retention for the AIA Central Oklahoma Chapter.

The Luncheon Committee is responsible for planning five 2011 Luncheon programs, which includes soliciting speakers, locating venues and soliciting sponsors (if necessary).  This committee is also responsible for organizing five Architecture after 5 events for 2011.  The committee must work within the budget set by the AIA Central Oklahoma Board of Directors and must report to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis.

The Local Advocacy Committee of the Central Chapter of the American Institute of Architects shall:  **Promote the value and benefits of a high quality, sustainable built environment to all governmental and non-profit organizations within the local community. **Promote the profession of architecture as it serves the long-term benefit of the community. **Raise the level of awareness and credibility of the AIA among municipal and county officials and employees, and among non-profit organizations within the local community. **Promote the benefit of engaging the expertise of local architectural professionals in the development and planning of the community and the built environment. 

The Local Advocacy Committee meets the 4th Wednesday of each month.  The committee must work within the budget set by the AIA Central Oklahoma Board of Directors and must report to the Board of Directors on a monthly basis. 

 

 

 

FELLOWSHIP NOMINATION COMMITTEE:

   

The Fellowship Nomination Committee is responsible for seeking out individuals who are worthy of FAIA status and working with them to submit a Fellowship nomination.  The goal is to submit one to three applications per year from the AIA Central Oklahoma membership.

 

 

OKLAHOMA CITY FOUNDATION FOR ARCHITECTURE BOARD OF TRUSTEES:

 

 

 
The mission of the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture is to promote excellence in our physical environment by educating our community to recognize it, design professionals to provide it, and by doing projects that demonstrate it.

The Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture bylaws state that the purpose of the Foundation is to:

  • identify valuable architectural structures, spaces, sites and works of merit;
  • educate the public about the architectural environment;
  • promote and participate in the preservation and rehabilitation of significant architectural structures;
  • establish a repository or museum for historical architectural data and material; and
  • establish a fund to be used for projects deemed appropriate by the Foundation.
